SAFARI ADVENTURER – DAY TRIP TO Nxai Pan National Park:

Detailed Itinerary:

NXAI PAN NATIONAL PARK

Join us as we embark on a day’s journey to explore the famous Nxai Pan National Park in Northern Botswana. Nxai Pan is a stunning protected area, known for its expansive salt pans, iconic baobab trees, and a rich abundance of wildlife. The park offers a unique safari experience with a blend of dry and wetland landscapes that attract a variety of wildlife throughout the year.

Your professional guide will collect you from your accommodation in Maun (pre-arranged).

This day trip has an early start, typically around 5 am, to ensure we maximize our time in Nxai Pan National Park.

As we leave Maun and head toward the park, the morning light will guide us through the outer villages, providing a glimpse into local life. Once we hit the sandy roads leading to the park, your safari truly begins! The drive to Nxai Pan is an adventure in itself, with the changing terrain offering incredible vistas of the open plains.

The stretch of road (4 x 4 terrain) is often bumpy and dusty, adding to the excitement for adventurous travelers.

Once we pass through the park's gates, you may immediately spot some of the remarkable wildlife in the area. It’s not uncommon to see giraffes, zebras, and elephants. Nxai Pan is also home to impressive predator species like lions and cheetahs, and if you’re lucky, you might encounter them early on your journey.

If a "comfort stop" is needed during your safari, your guide will find a safe and suitable location.

Throughout the day, a selection of water, juice, cool drinks, and a picnic lunch will be available to you (all-inclusive).

HAVE YOUR CAMERAS READY

As you venture deeper into Nxai Pan National Park, we'll take a break for morning tea, giving you the chance to appreciate the park's diverse landscapes. From the open grasslands to the famous Baines' Baobabs, the natural beauty here is remarkable. Keep an eye out for giraffes browsing the scattered acacias, springbok herds, oryx, and elephant herds that traverse the pans in search of water. Nxai Pan is also a birdwatcher’s paradise, especially during the wet season when migratory birds flock to the area.

Enjoy a delicious picnic lunch surrounded by nature's tranquility, whether it's elephants drinking at a waterhole or a family of ostriches strolling across the plains. Smaller mammals like bat-eared foxes and jackals may also make an appearance.

During this full day's adventure, Nxai Pan will reveal the wonders of its expansive, pristine landscape, offering a truly special wildlife experience. The park's diverse wildlife, from predators to plains game, birdlife, and other species, will captivate your senses.

As the late afternoon approaches, we’ll begin our journey back toward Maun, arriving after sunset. You will be dropped off at your accommodation (pre-arranged).

We look forward to you joining us for another Safari Chapter.
