Makgadikgadi National Park
Makgadikgadi National Park is one of Botswana’s most fascinating and unique wilderness destinations, offering visitors an extraordinary combination of vast landscapes, rich wildlife, ancient history, and unforgettable safari experiences. Visitors regularly encounter zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, kudu, impala, springbok, and steenbok, while the elusive brown hyena is one of the area’s most sought-after sightings. Birdlife flourishes during the wet season when temporary wetlands attract flamingos, pelicans, storks, and a wide variety of migratory species, creating a paradise for bird enthusiasts and photographers.
One of the region’s most iconic attractions is its population of habituated meerkats. These curious and charismatic animals have become renowned for their relaxed behaviour around people, often providing intimate wildlife encounters that are both entertaining and memorable.
